Configuration Tab Help

Fishery

The Fishery dropdown allows you to select the type of landing report that will be created when you start a new report. This setting does not affect existing reports, only new reports. If Salmon Landing Report is selected in the dropdown, then when you start a new landing report and enter or swipe the CFEC permit card data a Salmon report will be created. Likewise for Groundfish.

Onscreen Keyboard

The Onscreen Keyboard checkbox is used to configure tLandings for use on a tablet device. If it is checked then the tLandings will assume that you are using the onscreen keyboard on the tablet and will position windows to allow space for the onscreen keyboard at the bottom of the screen.

Starting Font Size

The Starting Font Size is the font size default that will be used when tLandings is started. Once tLandings is running you can increase or decrease the font size using the Plus and Minus sign buttons on the toolbar.

Changing the font size on the Settings dialog does not immediately change the font size on tLandings. When you restart tLandings it will restart with the font size you entered. Also, if you click on the Plus and Minus sign buttons on the toolbar, they will increase or decrease the font size starting at the font size you entered.

Black Background Color Scheme

The Black Background Color Scheme checkbox controls the background and text colors on tLandings. If it is not checked, tLandings displays windows using the standard Microsoft Windows color scheme, with black text characters on a gray background. If the Black Background Color Scheme is checked, the background color of tLandings windows will be black, and text will be show as white letters. This has been found to improve readability when the screen is in direct sunlight, and is mainly used for tLandings on tablet devices. However, it can also be used for the standard tLandings on laptops. In addition to the black background, buttons are shown in bright green, to make them easier to see.

Toolbar Color

The Toolbar Color dropdown allows you to change the toolbar color on tLandings. This is intended to be used when more than one tLandings is running on the computer, and each tLandings is dedicated to recording landings for only certain deliveries. For example, if the tender is taking deliveries for two different seafood processors it could have two tLandings instances running, one for one processor, taking deliveries on the port side and another for the other processor, taking deliveries on the starboard side. The toolbar colors could be set so that the tLandings for the port side shows a red toolbar and the tLandings for the starboard side shows a green toolbar. This can help reduce confusion.

Missing Total Tare Weight Warning

The Missing Total Tare Weight Warning checkbox allows tLandings to be configured to give a warning message if no total tare weight is entered. This feature is for Salmon landings only, and total tare weight is used only in Bristol Bay. If you are not using the total tare weight functionality this checkbox should not be checked.

Print Tab Help

Use Signature Pad

The Use Signature Pad checkbox allows you to configure tLandings to capture signatures using the Topaz signature pad when generating the fish ticket PDFs. If this checkbox is checked you will be prompted to sign on the signature pad for both the Fisher’s signature and the Received By signature. Note that when the Onscreen Keyboard checkbox on the Configuration tab is checked, indicating that tLandings is running on a tablet, the signature will be prompted for and captured from the touch screen. In that case the Use Signature Pad checkbox will be ignored, even if a Topaz signature pad was connected. (The Topaz signature pad is not necessary for a device with a touch screen, so using a pad with such a device does not make much sense.)

Generate Tally Sheet with Fish Ticket

If the Generate Tally Sheet with Fish Ticket checkbox is checked then when you generate the fish ticket PDF for the report, tLandings will generate the Tally sheet at the same time and include it in the PDF file. If the fish ticket and tally sheet are both one page long this will result in a page that when printed will have the fish ticket on one side and the tally sheet on the other. Note that if the tally sheet is longer than one page, the first page of the tally sheet will print on the back of the fish ticket, and the second part of the tally sheet will print on the next page, by itself. If more than one of the Fish Ticket Copies  checkboxes is checked, the tally sheet will be generated only for the first fish ticket copy.

Print Two Tally Sheets

The Print Two Tally Sheets checkbox allows you to configure tLandings to generate two copies of the tally sheet PDF when you click the Generate Tally Sheet button on the landing report window. If this checkbox is not checked then only one copy of the tally sheet is generated in the PDF file.

Receipt Printer

The Receipt Printer checkbox allows you to configure tLandings to print a receipt on a receipt printer when the fish ticket is generated, instead of displaying the fish ticket PDF so that it can be printed. The receipt printer is used for the tablet version of tLandings, for when a full size page printer is unavailable. The receipt printer prints an abbreviated fish ticket receipt on a narrow paper strip. The fish ticket PDF is still generated and can be printed by the PTI when the tLandings tablet is returned for upload of the landing reports.

Fish Ticket Copy Labels

[add that tLandings requires to two copies]

The Fish Ticket Copy Labels checkboxes control the heading titles and number of copies of the fish ticket that will be generated when you click the Generate Fish Ticket button on the landing report window. The number of Fish Ticket Copies can be configured for your operation on the eLandings web application. If you want tLandings to use the same configuration you can click the Update Fish Ticket Copies from Server button on the Thumbdrive Installation Configuration dialog on the PTI. You can customize the fish ticket copies on the Print tab of the Settings dialog if you want a different configuration for your tLandings fish tickets.

tLandings always generates at least two copies, so If none of the fish ticket copy labels checkboxes are checked you will get two fish ticket copies with no heading title in the PDF when you click the Generate Fish Ticket button on the landing report window. If only one of the fish ticket copy labels checkboxes is checked you will also get two fish ticket copies. The first will have the heading label you selected with the checkbox and the second will no heading title. If you check two or more of the fish ticket copy labels checkboxes then you will get that number of copies in the PDF, with the associated heading titles.

Purchaser

The Purchaser checkbox gives a fish ticket copy in the PDF with the PURCHASER heading title if the box is checked.

Fish and Game

The Fish and Game checkbox gives a fish ticket copy in the PDF with the FISH & GAME heading title if the box is checked.

Seller

The Seller checkbox gives a fish ticket copy in the PDF with the SELLER heading title if the box is checked.

Purchaser

The second Purchaser checkbox gives a fish ticket copy in the PDF with the PURCHASER heading title if the box is checked.

Overlimit Tab Help

The Overlimit functionality is restricted to salmon landings. It is used when seafood processing plants have reached processing capacity and impose limits on the amount of fish they will accept from any particular fisherman.

Overlimit in effect

If the Overlimit in effect checkbox is checked, then the overlimit criteria is applied to fish tickets when they are generated. If the total sold weight of the overlimit species exceeds the threshold weight, then the sold weight for the species on the fish ticket will be the threshold weight and the remainder will be given the Overlimit disposition, for which the fisherman will not be paid.

Overlimit species

The Overlimit species dropdown allows you to select the salmon species for the overlimit restriction. Only one species at a time may have overlimit restriction.

Overlimit Threshold

The Overlimit Threshold is the weight in pounds that the processor will accept for sale with each landing. Weight of the overlimit species beyond the threshold will not be sold, but will instead be given the Overlimit disposition.

Fields Tabs Help

The Fields tabs provide users with the ability to hide fields on the report windows, and to provide default values for fields when new reports are created. Hiding and defaults are specific to the type of report.

The Fields tabs each have a table with 5 columns.

·         The Field column gives the name of the field

·         The Hide column provides a checkbox if the field can be hidden. If the checkbox is checked then the field and its label will not appear on the landing report window. Not all fields can be hidden.

·         The Default column provides a place for the PTI user to set default values for some fields. Not all fields can be given a default value. Also, default values are allowed for some fields if tLandings is being configured for use at the plant or for beach deliveries, but not if tLandings is being configured for a tender.

·         The Prior Report column provides a checkbox to allow you to set the value of the field from the most recent prior report as the default. With this feature, the tLandings user can override the value on a report, and the override value becomes the new default, if the checkbox here on the Settings dialog is checked.

·         The Prior for Vessel column provides a checkbox to show if tLandings is configured to get the default value for the field from a prior report for the same vessel if found on the thumbdrive. That is, if a report has been entered on the thumbdrive, and the same vessel returns to make another delivery, the fields with checked checkboxes in this column will be defaulted from the value on the first report.
